As mentioned in my previous post, the Fusion Leis are a brand new addition to Sidi's 2012 Women's line of boots. They're very similar to the men's Fusion, with almost identical features. But these are built off of a woman's foot mold.

I'll be getting a pair of these next week! I'm so excited. I've always wanted to try out a pair of Sidis. I know a lot of riders who are fans and rave about them, but I've not had the opportunity to try them out until now.

I like the modest design on them which don't appear to overwhelm the boot. They seem subtle to me and give them a nice, soft aesthetic without being overly girly.  When I'm off the bike, I love to get girlied out. But you won't see me walking around in a pink dress and pink shoes. Imagine if they marketed casual boots for women (e.g. Cole Haan - which btw, have the MOST comfortable high heels ever, Clarks) with big pink flowers and curly q's everywhere.   I doubt they would sell very many boots that way.

My friends at MotoNation are the national distributor for Sidi and they've obviously been giving them feedback on the whole pink thing. I don't think I've met anyone who was ever excited about the pink... (myself included). So thank you MotoNation!

I'll post first impressions after 100 miles or so of ride time.

Sidi Motorcycle Boots for Women, 2012

The 2012 women's motorcycle boot collection from Sidi is out.  1 boot has been updated and there are 2 new additions to the line.

Vertigo Lei - Available now

Nothing has changed from the previous model, except NO more pink! Instead, they've updated the Lei with a nice modest black and white design. Personally, I think it's a great color update.

Livia Rain - Available January 20, 2011

The Livias are replacing the Jasmines, with an updated design and funny little bumps above your toes to improve grip when shifting.  They've also added some reflective material where you see what appears to be white fabric.

Sidi Fusion - Available March 8, 2011

The Fusions are a new boot that provide more protection than the Livias but not as aggressive as the Vertigo Leis.

The fit hasn't changed from any of the previous models, and their European size is pretty consistent. I'm typically a Euro 37 and the previous Vertigo Leis (pink/black) fit me great except in the calves.  Since they have an adjustable calf system, I think it's just me. :(

It's nice to see these updates from Sidi. They make great boots and offer so many options for men, I can't wait to try one of these out in person.

Update 1/10/2012 - I'll be getting a pair of these to review from Motonation soon!

SFPD, all geared up.

I guess you can only wear real gear if you're assigned to ride a DR650 for the SFPD. I recently spotted another officer on a DR, wearing what appeared to be an Arai XD helmet. Hope this means more protective gear for our police officers.  Generally speaking, the gear requirements seem to be mandated from long standing rules and regulations which apparently have taken a long time to get changed.

Although, for officers riding BMWs or Harleys, they still appear to be stuck wearing the same outfits they were wearing 20-30 years ago.  Let's Protect our police force, come on SFPD!

Show off those kicks, guys.
