I’ve compiled a list of shops/dealers/services in San Francisco that we’re so lucky to have. Give them some love, most of these shops are run by small business owners, and they need our support. Contact me if I’ve missed anything. Happy Shopping!

This list is comprised of all the shops in the Bay Area that carry the largest selections of women’s gear.

BMW Motorcycles of San Francisco
BMW SF carries the full line of women’s BMW apparel. Larry and his team provide great customer service and are always ready and willing to help you find what fits you best, when it comes to BMW’s gear.

Dainese aka The D-Store SF
The Dainese store is filled with all things well, Dainese. Aside from making motorcycle gear, did you know that they also make high end snowsports and bicycling gear and accessories? Stop in and tell them I sent you. The DStore in SF has the largest inventory of Dainese gear in North America.

Johnson Leathers
Johnson’s leather not only is the US distributor of Forcefield TPro body armor, but they also make custom 1 and 2 piece leathers for riders and custom casual pieces as well. They also provide expert leather alterations and repairs.

Scuderia West
Scuderia West is a KTM/Aprilia/Victory and Kymco dealer. You’ll also find apparel brands such as RS Taichi, REV’IT, Dainese, Held, Olympia, KLIM and more! As some of you might know, I work there part time and the parts, service and apparel departments are there to help in any way they can. If you’re a woman and you need help being fitted, sized and in some cases, measured for your gear, stop in and let them help you shop! And whether you ride street, scooter, off road or dual sport, you’ll find what you need all under one roof. They also have a large showroom with used scooters and motorcycles too. SF Moto
SF Moto sells new and used motorcycles and scooters! They are also the exclusive dealer of ScooterGirls’ GoGoGear for women. They tend to cater to the commuter crowd and carry brands such as Fieldsheer, SHIFT, Fly and Kali. Eric and his team work hard to provide great customer service, new and used motorcycle / scooter sales and maintenance. They are also the only Hyosung dealer on this side of the Bay.

SF Scooter Centre
FSC is the exclusive dealer for Corazzo Scooter and Motorcycle gear. They carry Genuine Scooter Co. scooters and also specialize in selling used, vintage Vespas and Lambrettas. If you have a vintage scooter that needs some love, I would recommend bringing it to SFSC for some TLC.

Gear – Bay Area

CA Sport Touring – Hercules, CA
CA Sport Touring is you guessed it, a sport touring centric motorcycle shop.

Helimot – San Jose, CA
Helimot makes custom 1 and 2 piece leathers (sport/track/racing) for men and women. They also make gloves (for men and women), manufacturing all of them under one roof at their facility in San Jose.

MojoTown – San Rafael, CA
Not only do they sell gear, parts and accessories, but they are also a full service creative agency.

Moto Wheels – Sacramento, CA
Moto Wheels carries the largest Dainese inventory in the Greater Sacramento area. They carry almost as much inventory as the D-Store in SF! They carry a small selection of women’s Dainese, but if you want them to carry more women’s gear, you’ll have to tell Nick and let him know you want it! And don’t forget to tell him I sent you.

RoadRider – San Jose, CA
RoadRider has the largest selection of gear in the South Bay. If you don’t feel like driving all the way up the Peninsula, you should find everything you need at RoadRider. Look for me at their next parking lot sale!

ZooniLeathers – San Jose, CA
Proprietor and leather expert Juan Lindo has 25+ years of experience handcrafting leather suits.  Also located in San Jose, Zooni should definitely be on your list for custom if you’re also considering Helimot.

Accessories, Bags

Chrome Bags- San Francisco, CA
Drive into SF anyday and you’re bound to see at least a dozen bike messengers carrying these bags. They’re unique seatbelt buckle in the front makes them identifyable as Chrome Bags. I’ve always wanted to try one but haven’t had a chance yet…

Mission Workshop
Also based in San Francisco, Mission Workshops makes unique messenger bags with waterproof pockets, laptop pockets and a great urban aesthetic.

RickShaw Bagworks- San Francisco, CA
Rickshaw makes really cool messenger bags. You can even order a custom bag which they manufacturer in the Dogpatch neighborhood.

TAD Gear – San Francisco, CA
“Down the street or into the wild, Triple Aught Design seeks to inspire your world explorations and equip you with the gear to get you there—and back again to tell the tale.” If you’re planning your dream ride around the world, you may want to stop in and see what TADGear has for your survivalist/military/adventure needs. If you have a man who’s really hard to shop for, you’re definitely going to find something in here for him. Check out my blog post about them here. Timbuk2- San Francisco, CA
Timbuk2 also offers fully custom bags, as well as other accessories such as laptop sleeves, backpacks, wallets, etc. They also have a 2 boutiques where you can order your custom bag.

Not only does Johnson create custom and off the rack 1 and 2 piece suits, but they also provide expert leather alterations and repairs.

Leather Guy – Oakland, CA
The Leather Guy is also known as Richard. Richard does repairs and alterations based out of his shop in Oakland. He’s works by appointment only. Click on ‘Leather Guy’ and send him an email. He’s been doing leather work for over 40 years and used to own a company called Skyline Leathers. He was also the first person in the USA to be authorized by the factories to work on Kushitani Leathers.

“Double-You”, in case you’re wondering . They have a diverse fleet of motorcycles including BMWs, KTMs, Harleys and even scooters. If you’ve ever seen a dozen people riding down Lombard Street on BMWs in matching gear, you know where they rented their bikes. They also offer CA motorcycle tours, including a women-only tour.

KC Engineering
Parts, service, spot welding, suspension setup and more. They’re the oldest motorcycle shop in San Francisco!

MotoJava
Joe and Paul know how to treat a woman with respect when talking to you about bikes and most importantly, they know how to treat your bike! We’ve purchased three bikes from MotoJava. I highly recommend seeing them especially if you’re shopping for a used motorcycle in pristine condition. They often get bikes (all makes, all models, all sizes!) that often have very low miles and of course, a million point (ok, maybe not a million, but a lot of points) inspection from top to bottom. They’re used bike inventory is updated constantly on the website. But you have to act quick. If you see anything you possibly want to buy, you may want to call first and make sure it isn’t already sold. Bikes move fast at MotoJava. Sometimes bikes are sold the same day they’re posted.

MrScooter
Mr. Scooter is a full-service shop for all your scooter service and sales. They also sell and service motorcycles, go-peds and minibikes.

OHanlon Motorcycles

Tokyo Moto SF
Independent motorcycle shop in SF specializing in Japanese motorcycles and scooters. Cool!

Werkstatt SF
“Making the Fast Guys go Faster”. Although I think it should be ‘Girls’, considering the incredible talent that the owner, Jennifer has as a rider and mechanic. One thing that isn’t on her website is the fact that she also raced in the 1st ever TTXGP, the world’s first zero carbon, clean emission grand prix!

Godspeed – Oakland, CA
Godspeed is 1 part motorcycle maintenance shop, 1 part tattoo parlor and 1 part cafe. A really cool shop with a really unique attitude.
