The Pace Motorcycle Podcast
“Stoking the fires of motorcycle awesomeness!”
I’ll be adding to that awesomeness in 2 weeks. Can’t wait to chat with these guys about the world of gear. I’m always excited to chat with new readers about what my motorcycle goals are when it comes to women, motorcycling and gear.
I’m scheduled to chat with them on Wednesday, December 7th. It’ll be ready for download on the 11th!
One of these days, I need to start my own show about gear… Hmmmm. Is that something you’d actually listen to? I’ve been thinking about putting one together that would bring industry experts to the show such as spokespersons for different brands such as Alpinestars, Dainese, REV’IT, Spidi; maybe some reader questions? I’d also want to chat about my shopping tips, fit tips, body armor and more.
Any thoughts on what you’d like to hear from a potential GearCast?

I dunno, Joanne. You wouldn’t want to make it just talking heads. Ideas:
*Listeners send in pics of gear after it’s been in crashes and then you interview them on how it went, what they’ll be replacing it with, what they wish they’d known about adjusting it properly, etc. Hindsight being 20/20…
*Get gear manufacturers to give your audience various pieces two or three weeks ahead of a podcast and then you interview them on what paces they put them through…a real live gear review would generate listeners. Tell them they have to tune into so many podcasts to be eligible for the demo gear.
*Get a couple of gear designers on to listen to REAL women with REAL curves grill them on WTF they’re thinking before they go into production with the same cuts and colors! I think it would be especially helpful for Euro designers to talk to us North Americans…It would probably also be enlightening for us to know what their constraints are.
Rock on!
I definitely would love to do a radio show type format someday, but this would just be a podcast, so it can’t really be interactive, in terms of live QnA from listeners. I’d like to bring some real rider education to the table, information about designing gear, why we should spend more on it and what the differences are. I do like the idea of having european reps from various manufacturers interviewed, and have some ideas on who I could bring to the table on that. Since podcasts are essentially, talking heads, that’s sort of what I’m going for…
Joanne,
I think I speak for James too when I say that you’re welcome to come on The Pace at any time to discuss gear, toss out some information, talk about new events on your blog, etc. We’ll be happy to have you on.
That’s great! Whenever I can talk to more people about gear, it always makes me happy
